Tuscany is, deservedly, world-famous for its rich culture and landscape. Close to the coast, there are the ancient cities of Lucca and Pisa, the latter famous for its leaning tower and both once leading in importance and power. In later times, the cities of Siena and Florence took over. Florence became the mightiest of all, and still is a city, although quite small as far as cities go, where the capital “C” is applicable as far as “Culture” is concerned. Nobody could, therefore, be surprised that this combination attracts, year in year out, holiday goers from all over the world.

The location of Park Hotel Chianti, in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, is especially to the Dutch clients known as the town where the Dutch Queen Beatrix found her Summer residence. The hotel is situated in the heart of the Chianti Region, at about 20 km. from Florence and 40 km. from Siena. Via the Autostrada (A 1) one can reach many of the most interesting towns and villages of Tuscany, such as the afore-mentioned Lucca (with a very beautiful "piazza") and Pisa, San Gimignano etc. But in case you have absorbed enough culture: a day at one of the beaches is very possible, too. One hour of driving, and you are there.

The atmosphere in Park Hotel Chianti is relaxed, and very friendly. The management advocates hospitality as the number one for its personnel, and the guests will be sure to notice and benefit from this. The price-quality comparison, therefore, is excellent!
Two tips: In the village Colle di Val d’Elsa, you will find a rather new museum on crystals. If you are interested and have some time to spare, why not pay a visit? As a matter of course, there are many trips to be made along the Chianti Classico wine route. At the hotel reception, one will gladly inform you further.

Facilities:
American Bar, lounge, reception, swimming pool ( 7 x 15 m.), terrace with deck chairs and parasols and a garden with lots of shady spots, Mountain bikes free or charge to be reserved at the reception. Moreover, you can get all information on biking- and walking routes, wine tasting, cooking courses (minimum of 15 participants) etc. Ample parking space available in a secluded area.

Rooms:
43 double rooms, comfortably and tastefully furnished with telephone, television, safe, mini bar, air conditioning and bathroom with shower and hair dryer. All rooms have a balcony. The Superior rooms have swimming pool or garden view and have complete renovated bathrooms.

Possibilities for sports:
Tennis at about 2 km. distance; golf at about 25 km. distance and a riding stable at about 8 km. distance.
